« Back to Glossary Index

Loans are financial arrangements between a borrower and a lender, in which the borrower receives a sum of money or other assets that must be repaid with interest over a set period of time.

Loans can be secured or unsecured, with the former requiring collateral to secure the loan and the latter not requiring any collateral. Common types of loans include personal loans, auto loans, home mortgages, and student loans.
